The Centre for Indian Classical Dance (CICD) is the agency to promote South Asian Dance in the East Midlands region. The organisation has been established since 1981 and was founded by Kathak Artist Nilima Devi.
The Centre works closely with schools facilitating after school workshops teaching Indian dance and music which students normally then perform at school assemblies and the Centre's annual school showcase.
The Centre also facilitates tailored workshops in special needs schools; summer schools for young children in the community; classical dance lessons through Arts in Education at Knighton Fields on Saturdays, Youth Groups at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre.
