For children and young people aged 8 and up. Primarily works in the Charnwood area but projects can be county, regionally, nationally or internationally based. Caters for all ethnicities and faiths but sometimes through targeted or specific cross-cultural activities. Specific projects foir groups of disabled young people are also devised at times
Activities include:
A range of arts, creative and cultural activities, single or combined art forms, media and new media projects
Specific services such as after-school and out-of-school clubs and specialist provision for working with young people at risk of offending.
A long-term commitment to adddressing community cohesion through arts and sports activities for young people.
Charnwood Arts was established in 1976 as a local arts council. It is now regarded as one of the UK's most successful and innovative independent participatory arts organisation. The Charnwood Arts youth programme is known as Next Level. |
